Bnfane Interview
Welcome back to the fourth installment of our creator series! As always, a brief introduction of what this is all about. This is the beginning of a hopefully long lasting series of inspiration and creativity. One major challenge facing us all is knowing when to start designing our dream spaces. One aspect of this journey that never fails is to borrow some of that creativity from those with beautiful homes. The inspiration and creativity being featured in this entry is none other than Bnfane_ or better known as Ben!
Who is Bnfane_?
Meet Ben! Originally from New Zealand, he spent the majority of his life living in many cities in Australia such as Brisbane and Sydney but has recently moved to Löhne Germany.Ben describes himself as a family man who enjoys the simple things in life such as spending time with his beautiful kids, photography, music, and if you’ve seen his content of course you know he enjoys a good cup of coffee.
From a career perspective, Ben began his career in construction as a carpenter for some time. Wanting a change that enabled him to gain more time and freedom, he made a shift to the IT industry working as a Salesforce administrator. Outside of his career, we wanted to know what life looked like for Ben, he tells us “Life right now is all about transition and intentionality. My family and I are focused on setting meaningful goals, and one of our biggest projects is designing our home. We’re pouring ourselves into turning it into an oasis that reflects who we are—a space filled with warmth, creativity, and peace.”
Home Decor Journey
Every journey no matter where it leads has a starting point. Ben states this about the beginning of his journey “My journey in designing our home really began through my work as a carpenter. After years of working on renovations and building homes from the ground up, I found myself developing a deep appreciation—not just for structure, but for the soul of a home. That naturally evolved into a love for interior design.”
Along with this, Ben states “A big part of that inspiration came from my wife. She’s the one who really opened my eyes to the world of design and the variety of styles that can be brought into a home. She introduced me to aesthetics like Boho and Scandinavian, which contrast with my growing appreciation for Mid-Century Modern design.”
The process of taking the bare bones of 4 walls and turning it into a home is a lengthy process, time consuming process. As time goes on, executing on the vision can become increasingly difficult but something that can help keep the process on track is remembering the motivations that started it all. Ben shares “What keeps me motivated is the idea that every season of life invites a new atmosphere—a new touch to the home. Whether it's a new piece of furniture or a change in lighting, those subtle shifts help breathe life into our space and keep it evolving with us. It’s about more than just looks; it’s about creating a feeling—comfort, creativity, and connection.”
Keeping the motivations at the center of the process will not only keep things on track but it can help some key focus areas shine through all the wants that come out of the ideation stage. Here is what Ben had to say about this “We’re focusing on a few key areas: the kitchen, our kids' bedrooms, and our outdoor space. We’re really excited about turning our garden into a peaceful oasis while maintaining a cozy, expressive interior. Pinterest has been a major source of inspiration—we’re constantly saving new ideas and adapting them to fit our own vision.”
Continuing down the same path, we can confidently say that Ben has positioned himself as a reliable source of inspiration for all his supporters and even those are fans of interior design. It’s always valuable to hear what inspires those who inspire us. Here is more of what Ben had to say about what inspires his home “My home draws inspiration from a blend of Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, and Boho design. I’m especially drawn to natural textures—timber being a big one—and I love how these styles combine warmth, function, and a bit of playful character. The mix allows us to create a space that feels both curated and personal.”
He adds “My wife and I both bring our personalities into the design. She has a bubbly, energetic spirit, while I’m a bit more chill and grounded. We reflect that in our furniture and decor—balancing calming tones and textures with pops of color that brighten and lift the space. Especially during cozy seasons, I love layering in elements that make the home feel extra warm and inviting. That’s when my personality really comes through—in the lighting, soft furnishings, and small details that make you want to slow down and enjoy the moment.”
Bnfane_ The Content Creator
There are many things that connect all of the great creators we have featured thus far on this series. The biggest connector, aside from their passions for making a house a home, is their ability to share this gift with the world. Having the skill to consistently engage and captivate an audience isn’t an easy task and at times can be undervalued.
We wanted to know what this, the content creation side, looked like for Ben. This is what he had to say “Content creation really started for me in late 2023 during a major turning point in my life. I had made the transition from working as a carpenter to entering the digital space as a Salesforce Administrator. One of the main reasons behind that shift was the desire to spend more time at home with my family and not constantly be away on job sites. It wasn’t an easy move—I had to dedicate time to studying and retraining—but it opened up space in my life I hadn’t had before.”
He continues “With that time, I found myself leaning into my passions, especially coffee and photography. That’s when I began posting on Instagram. I’ve always been a coffee lover, so my first reels naturally revolved around that—morning rituals, brewing moments, capturing small details. I eventually picked up my first Fujifilm camera, and that kicked off a whole new creative journey…
As I started creating more, interiors became a major part of my content. Coffee was still present, but it became more about how I experience and enjoy our space. I started following a lot of Mid-Century Modern accounts and drew inspiration from creators whose homes and lifestyles felt intentional, warm, and timeless. Books on interior design also helped deepen my understanding of the craft.”
The newfound time that was allocated to creating content of the home has proven successful. With the success; comes more hopes, aspirations, and goals for Ben’s social media pages. From exciting deals to just growing his presence online, the opportunities are endless! We asked Ben what were some upcoming aspects of content creation that excite him, along with asking what are some of these goals that he hopes to achieve. He states “Right now, I’m involved in a few exciting projects that are pushing me to grow both as a creator and as a person. I'm also expanding to other platforms, like TikTok, where I’ve just started experimenting.”
Finally, something we are always excited to ask is, in a perfect world, what would “Bnfane_” the content creator look like. There are a variety of answers to this question which is why it has become a fan favorite. Ben states “In a perfect world, Bnfane_ is a content creator rooted in authenticity and creativity. It’s someone who gets to blend storytelling, family, design, and lifestyle into something that resonates with people on a personal level. It’s creating spaces—both digital and physical—that feel inspiring, comforting, and real. I’d love to eventually collaborate with brands that align with my values, share more about the home-building process, and grow a platform that encourages others to live intentionally and create with purpose.”
The Future of Interior Design
This is something new we wanted to implement for this interview. The world has seen interior trends come and go, from the Bauhaus movement in the 1920’s to the resurgence of mid-century modern today. We wanted to know what Ben’s thoughts were on where interior design is going in the near future and which will he exploit in his home. This is the amazing take Ben had for us, he states “In my opinion, the future of interior design is heading toward intentional living—spaces that are not just beautiful, but deeply personal, sustainable, and multi-functional. People are beginning to move away from overly curated or “perfect” homes and leaning into design that tells a story, reflects identity, and serves real everyday life. It's about creating spaces that feel good, not just look good.”
He adds “I see a growing emphasis on natural textures and sustainable materials—which really speaks to my love for timber and organic elements. Interior design is becoming more about quality over quantity, with people opting for timeless, long-lasting pieces rather than fast furniture. This aligns perfectly with my draw toward Mid-Century Modern design, which was always built on principles of durability, minimalism, and smart use of materials.”
Finally, “Another direction I see design heading is a fusion of styles, as people begin to blend cultural influences and personal tastes more freely. For our home, that’s something we’re already doing—merging Boho, Scandinavian, and Mid-Century Modern influences. It’s not always easy to balance those styles, but I think that challenge is what makes a space feel truly personal. Our content will continue to explore how different styles can complement each other and evolve with us.” … “For me, the future of design is less about following trends and more about evolving with purpose—finding ways to make our home an authentic expression of who we are while being conscious of how we consume, design, and live. I plan to lean into that mindset with my content, showing not just the finished product but the thought process, the growth, and the human side of making a house a home.”
Advice To You!
In similar fashion, closing out with arguably the most valuable portion of the entire interview, the advice Ben has for you all! For all of those who are on the border of starting their own home decor journey, looking for inspiration, or have hit a creators block. This is something that can help everyone no matter what stage of the journey they are in. This is what Ben has to say to you. He states “Starting your home decor journey can feel overwhelming at first, but it’s one of the most rewarding and personal things you can do. My advice? Start with how you want your space to feel, not just how you want it to look. Think about the kind of energy and mood you want your home to carry. Is it calm and cozy? Bright and playful? Grounded and natural? Once you’ve defined that, you can start building around it piece by piece.”
He adds “For anyone upgrading their space, don’t rush the process. I learned early on—especially when designing our home—that good design is a journey, not a quick fix. Focus on one area at a time. Start with foundational elements like lighting, texture, and layout. You don’t need to have every item figured out right away. Begin with small upgrades—like adding a warm lamp, a textured rug, or a statement coffee table—and layer from there. Let your space evolve with you.”
He also includes the importance of sharing the journey with those living with you. His thoughts include “if you’re creating with a partner or spouse—lean into that! My wife plays a huge role in our creative process, from ideas to execution, and that collaboration has only made the content stronger. Surround yourself with people who believe in what you’re doing and who can help you see things from a fresh perspective.”
Finally, Ben relays “Don’t wait until everything is perfect. Share the process, the learning moments, the unfinished corners. That’s what people connect with most. Community is everything, and once you start sharing, you’ll find others walking a similar path—which has been one of the most rewarding parts of this entire experience for me… At the end of the day, whether it’s building a home or building an audience, the best results come from authenticity, intention, and patience. Trust the process, find beauty in the small details, and let your home and your content grow alongside you.”
We’d like to thank Ben for his time and effort in this entire process. We hope you can take some value not only from this aesthetic home and content creation but from his journey and powerful character. Thank you for reading and stay tuned for the next installment of our creator series!
